Pop N Go Launches Test With Veterans Canteen Services
Whittier, CA- Pop N Go (OTCBB: POPN). Mike Wallace, Director of Food Operations for the Veterans Canteen Service (VCS), the retail system for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospitals, announced last week that the Canteen Service will test Pop N Go hot air popcorn vending machines in three of its hospitals in New York. There are 180 canteens in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. The VCS does over $85 million in yearly food sales from its modern food courts in VA hospitals. Mr. Wallace chose Pop N Go because it provides a healthy, nutritious snack for veteran patients, their families, and hospital staff 24/7. The VA has stressed that its vending operations offer healthy snacks.
Mr. Wallace was also impressed with the ease of operation and the revenues Pop N Go will provide the Veterans Canteen Service. The director said that Vending revenues increased 4.22 percent last year and sees Pop N Go as an additional way to increase sales. Mrs. Donna Pitts will oversee the test for the VCS. If the test is successful, the Veterans Canteen Service will place Pop N Go in other hospitals.
“We are pleased to add the VA hospitals to Pop N Go’s expanding lineup of sites that recognize the healthy benefits of our freshly popped popcorn,” stated Mel Wyman, Pop N Go’s CEO.
